Did you know...?

Our go to plant for hard to kill options and it's low maintenance too! All the way from eastern Africa it has adapted to tolerate long periods of drought so it has fleshy stems, glossy leaves and rhizomes beneath the soil which look like potatoes and store water beneath the soil surface. These plants don't require much space within their pot so it will arrive looking swollen which is completely normal. If you give this plant too much room around its roots it will retain water it doesn't need and rot. If your ZZ is in a dark and cold room during the winter months, we would recommend watering even less than once a month.
