Did you know...?

The polka dot begonia is like no other houseplant so if you're after something unique, this is the one for you. The white dots really pop against its dark green leaf colouring, and when the light is shining, the red undersides stand out a treat.

All the way from Brazil, this indoor plant is a climbing vine which means it will need a bamboo stick or two when it grows taller. The maculata 'Wightii' can grow up to 1m tall and it produces clusters of white blooms which are really pretty.

Your begonia will crisp up if it's subject to high temperatures or direct sun, so choose a spot which offers bright dappled light and ensure it doesn't dry out for too long to avoid it getting brown tips. Little and often watering during the Spring/Summer is best and you can let it dry out more in the Winter. Misting is key in keeping the leaves hydrated, something this plant is used to in its natural habitat.
