Did you know...?
You might be surprised to know that Staghorn Ferns are epiphytes. Similar to orchids and air plants, they attach themselves to tree branches and trunks in the wild. They have two types of fronds; the first set are uniquely shaped like antlers which is where they get their name from. The second set around the base are shield fronds which turn brown with age. These take up water and nutrients so don't remove them!
