This plant gets requested by so many of our customers. It’s a seasonal plant available from Spring which is why they are not always in the shops.
Known as Purple Shamrock or Love Plant, it has dainty deep purple leaves which open and close in response to light levels and disturbances. It also produces pretty light purple flowers!
Keep your Oxalis in a cool location that receives bright indirect light. It is normal for this plant to die back in the autumn. When this happens, hold off on watering and cut the dead leaves away. The bulbs under the soil will be alive but are taking a nap. Native to southern Africa and South America, your plant will benefit from an occasional mist and water when the top layer of soil feels dry.
